So one month ago today I was in the Magic Kingdom, and this was the very last thing I did there. I had met Ariel twice earlier in the day (once in her grotto, again at Cinderella’s royal table), but this meeting was probably the most magical event of my Disney vacation.
It was extra magic hours, and my friend had already gone to wait for a bus while I rode the Little Mermaid ride again. I saw people where going down another line, and I found out Ariel was still meeting people. I figured I had time, so I went on down.
Ariel immediately got that I was Disney bounding as her, asking “Did you dress to match me today?” I was like “of course,” and then said it was my last day in Disney World and I’d love for the last thing I do there to be make fishy faces with my favorite princess. After posing like marine models, Ariel did the sweetest little thing.
She drew a line between us and said “this is a heart string, going from you to me. If you ever miss it here, just pull it and I’ll feel it and I’ll know it’s you.” She asked for a hug, and wished me a safe swim home. It was the one moment where I really saw the magic of Disney World on this trip. I absolutely loved it.
